The Vic Chesnutt Band
Though Michael Stipe had been a fan of Vic Chesnutt since the late '80s, producing his first two full-lengths, it took the Sweet Relief Two tribute album to make him a star in 1996. A paraplegic who was injured in a car accident at the age of 18, Chesnutt began playing contemporary acoustic folk around Athens, GA in his early twenties. His latest album is called Dark Developments and performances will feature Guy Picciotto of Fugazi and members of Thee Silver Mt. Zion.
