Since January 2013, a cluttered Columbia Heights basement has served as a musical melting pot where the vibrant chords and improvisational sensibilities of jazz mix with the energy and passion of rock, the smooth snaky grooves of soul, and the hard thumps of funk. In that basement, Newt Junior has formed their own band with the goal of combining all of their accumulated influences into one vision and one cohesive genre that offers something every listener can enjoy.
